The Love Live! franchise is making the leap to live-action with the upcoming Love Live! School Idol Musical the DRAMA, a TV drama series that will air in MBS’s Dramafil slot starting November 21 JST.
The new school idol series is based on 2022’s Love Live! musical. The cast includes:

• Miho Watanabe as Rurika Tsubaki
• Nanami Asai as Yuzuha Sumeragi
• Julia Ann as Yukino Hojo
• Mizuki Yamauchi as Hikaru Amakusa
• Akari Yura as Maya Mikasa
Takizakura Girls Academy (Takizakura Joshi Gakuin)
• Nanaka Tomita as Anzu Takizawa
• Ayaka Yasumoto as Misuzu Wakatsuki
• Yuna Nakamura as Toa Kurusu
• Rina as Rena Suzuka
• Airi Yamamoto as Sayaka Karukaze
Keijiro Tsubakimoto and Hiroto Totsuka are co-directing based on Koki Kishimoto‘s screenplay. As is tradition, Sakurako Kimino (Strawberry Panic author) is credited with the drafts.
The Love Live! multimedia franchise began back in 2013. For fans of the Love Live! anime, the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu-hen movie trilogy premiered its first installment earlier this month, while the third season of Love Live! Superstar!! will premiere on October 8 JST.
