The Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles anime’s second season has received a main trailer, which includes a preview of the Aguri Onishi opening song “Auftakt.”

It was also announced that the show will premiere on October 7 JST (effectively October 8 at 1:30 AM JST).

Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles 2 is based on the HJ Bunko light novels written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Riv. The series started in 2015 and has 25 volumes as of February 2024. J-Novel Club describes the plot as:

Meet Rio: a callous orphaned boy living in the slums. At only 7-years-old, he realizes he’s actually the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past. While still reeling from this shocking epiphany, Rio also comes to learn that he possesses extremely potent magical abilities and uses his new powers to solve the kidnapping case of a little girl. His good deed is acknowledged, and he’s rewarded by being enrolled into… a prestigious academy for noble children…?

Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles was originally a Shousetsuka ni Narou title that debuted in 2014. The light novels have inspired two manga adaptations, with the first attempt being short-lived. The first season of the anime aired during the Summer 2021 anime season.
