New Yaiba Anime Reveals Teaser Trailer, Is Produced by WIT Studio featured image

The upcoming new Yaiba anime has received a teaser trailer, teaser visual, and details about the staff and cast. 

It was also revealed that its title is Shin Samuraiden Yaiba.

Shin Samuraiden Yaiba is a WIT Studio production with Takahiro Hasui (Mob Psycho 100 III director) as director,  Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho 100) as character designer and chief animation director, Takeshi Maenami (Brave Bang Bravern mechanical designer) as sub-character designer and main animator, and Maiko Okada (Ranking of Kings) as animation producer.

Other staff include as Hirofumi Masuda as special effects director, Bamboo’s Yusuke Takeda (Komada – A Whisky Family) as art director, Satoshi Hashimoto (Ranking of Kings) as color designer, Toru Fukushi (The Imaginary) as compositing director, and Yutaka Yamada (Vinland Saga) and Yoshiaki Dewa (Hell’s Paradise) as music composers.

Voicing the main characters are Minami Takayama as Yaiba Kurogane, Manaka Iwami as Sayaka Mine, and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Takeshi Onimaru.

The Yaiba manga by Detective Conan‘s Gosho Aoyama was serialized from 1988 to 1993 in Shonen Sunday and and was the winning title of the 38th Shogakukan Manga Award Children’s category. The titular character of the story is a young samurai-in-training.

The manga previously inspired a Pastel-produced anime series that ran from 1993 to 1994. The new anime will have Aoyama’s full supervision.
