The Classroom of the Elite anime adaptation will return for a fourth season.
The new season will cover the characters’ first school term as second-year students. A teaser visual featuring the incoming new first-years was released with the announcement.
Classroom of the Elite is based on the MF Bunko J light novels written by Syogo Kinugasa and illustrated by Tomoseshunsaku, which Seven Seas Entertainment describes as:
Students of the prestigious Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School are given remarkable freedom—if they can win, barter, or save enough points to work their way up the ranks! Ayanokoji Kiyotaka has landed at the bottom in the scorned Class D, where he meets Horikita Suzune, who’s determined to rise up the ladder to Class A. Can they beat the system in a school where cutthroat competition is the name of the game?
The anime’s first season premiered in 2017, with Season 2 arriving a few years later in July 2022. Season 3 started airing in January 2024 after having its 2023 premiere delayed.
The light novels have a sequel series titled Classroom of the Elite: Year 2, which began publication in 2020 and has 12 main volumes as of August 2024.
