Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame is one of hololive’s newest members, debuting alongside Gigi Murin, Raora Panthera, and Cecilia Immergreen as part of hololive English -Justice-. With a variety of vocal talents, Elizabeth was a perfect candidate to infiltrate hololive.

Anime Trending had the exclusive opportunity to interview Elizabeth about her uncanny impressions, and her love of performing.

Your impressions are pretty impressive. When did you start doing them? Was it something you highlighted during your audition?

Liz: Cheers! I’ve been doing impressions since I was young — mostly just for myself by copying the voices of the cartoons I loved as a kid — but never in front of others. Later, I realized how useful it could be in my missions and on the battlefield by using different voices to go undercover and capture targets. It’s a unique skill, so yes, it was definitely one of the highlights during my audition to infiltrate hololive! Oh~hohoho!

What inspired the inclusion of that unforgettable Takamori skit during your performance of “The Promise of the World” in your debut stream?

Liz: Honestly, I’m sure other singers can relate — long instrumental breaks are wonderful to listen to, especially before coming back for the final chorus. But when all eyes are on you, it can feel a bit awkward. So, I like to fill that silence partially to make it a “Liz Version.” I started thinking about who could make a great romantic couple, kind of like in Howl’s Moving Castle, and Takamori seemed like the perfect fit! A fun little romantic comedy Easter egg for both myself and the audience to share together.

Your singing is another talent that has stood out. What sort of music background do you have?

Liz: It is a great passion of mine, thus I’ve had many years of training. Whether solo, with comrades, teachers, or on the battlefield — learning various styles has shaped my vocal performance.

What kind of music/songs are you into?

Liz: Everything. I listen to all kinds of music. To me, all music is good music.

What kind of music would you like to explore in your original songs? Are there any genres you would like to capture in an official release?

Liz: I know for sure I’d like to make an original jazz tune, something upbeat and positive to bring a smile and a spring in their step to those who listen. I’m excited to make original music in general.

Getting better at dancing was one of your listed goals in your debut stream. What’s the most challenging part about dancing for you right now?

Liz: Dosh, haha. I’m saving so I can start traveling to different types of dance classes — tiz the reason I haven’t been to a dance lesson in a long time. I’m also a little self conscious when it comes to dancing sometimes, heh. I’m excited for when I do start going to a dance class as it’s also fun exercise.

Multiplayer games were listed among your likes — what drew you to these types of games?

Liz: Friends. I feel I’m a social person, thus multiplayer games are my favorite because they bring people together.

You’ve mentioned that you didn’t have a lot of time for games in the past. Now that you’re a streamer and have the opportunity to delve into the vast world of gaming, what’s at the top of your gaming to-do list? What are your thoughts on the hobby?

Liz: It was a mix of time and money. I had to prioritize my mission work for The Organisation, part-time work, my training, and my family. Plus, with my motion sickness, I can’t play certain games for too long, so I really respect the energy of those who can marathon games for hours. My main focus remains on singing and content creation, but I’m glad I get to dive into more games than ever before.

Liz: For example, playing Undertale has been on my list for a long time, but I never had the time or the desire to play it alone. Now, being part of hololive with my Rosarians [The Bloodflame Kingdom] by my side, gaming feels like a much more enjoyable experience. I still don’t consider myself “a gamer,” but I enjoy it nonetheless.

Another of your likes is live performances, ranging from plays to concerts and stand-up. How did your interest in these begin?

Liz: My family has always loved music, and growing up, they constantly played different genres and watched a variety of performances on TV. That’s part of why I’m so drawn to live performances — I love seeing the passion people have for their craft.

For example, even though I’m not a stand-up comedian myself, watching someone who’s passionate about what they do makes the experience so much more enjoyable for me. I’ve also seen performances like gifting the audience a gift, and gosh I love gift giving when I can. It can be as simple as a joke to make someone’s day — the gift of a giggle.

What is the one live performance that you will never forget for the rest of your life?

Liz: It’s hard to pick a favorite because I’ve loved every live performance I’ve witnessed throughout Great Exardia and the different realms I’ve visited, each for different reasons. But one memory that stands out is from when I was younger. I got lost and ended up at a stage where a legendary performer was singing. My parents found me, and that performer was singing directly to me.

Though the details are hazy, I remember being completely entranced. Beyond their incredible singing, the kindness they showed me left a lasting impression, and it’s that combination of talent and warmth that I strive to embody as a performer. I want to bring smiles to all through the art of singing.

Given that you don’t like tea, what’s your favorite warm beverage?

Liz: Hot chocolate — my FAVE being mint hot chocolate.
