The Mahoutsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi (The Story of a Girl Who Couldn’t Become a Mage) fantasy anime will begin airing on October 4 (effectively October 5 at 1:53 AM JST) in Japan. A second trailer and a main visual have also been released.

The new trailer includes a look at the supporting cast and previews the newly announced theme songs, which are PUFFY and TOOBOE‘s “Collage” (the opening song) and halca‘s “Shunkan Saidai Fuusoku” (the ending song).

Maho Nare is on a novel submission by Yuzuki Akasaka, which was selected as the winner of Project ANIMA’s Isekai/Fantasy category. The story will follow Kurumi Mirai, an air-headed girl who idolizes mages, and Yuzu Edel, the daughter of a prestigious magic family, as they study at a magic academy with complicated classmates, a suspicious association, and a hidden secret.

Project ANIMA is a joint initiative by DeNANippon Cultural BroadcastingSotsu, and MBS that focuses on the production of original TV anime, with submitted novels, scripts, manga, and proposals providing the basis of these shows’ premises. The other categories are Science Fiction/Robot and Kids/Game.

The 2021 anime Sakugan came from the project’s Science Fiction/Robot category winner. The Kids/Game winner, Mevius Dust, is inspiring a Doga Kobo-produced anime. Project ANIMA’s submission and selection processes were executed between February 2018 and March 2019.
