A new key visual has been unveiled for the ongoing Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World? TV anime series, ahead of the anime’s fourth episode on August 3, 2024. The anime first premiered in Japan on July 13, 2024 and will broadcast 12 episodes.
The visual features Kai and Rinne together as they prepare to battle the Hero of the Demons, Vanessa.
Tatsuma Minamikawa (Pon no Michi, The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess) is directing the anime, with Satoru Sugisawa (Love After World Domination) as screenwriter and Hiromi Kato (The Kingdoms of Ruin) as character designer. Project No.9 is in charge of the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

- • Hana Hishikawa as Reirein
- • Seiichiro Yamashita as Ashran

The anime is based on the fantasy light novel series, written by Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World author Kei Sazane and illustrated by neco. It was published by Media Factory’s MF Bunko J from July 25, 2017 to August 25, 2020 for nine total volumes. The series also inspired a 2018 manga adaptation illustrated by Arikan, which is published in English digitally by Kadokawa on the BookWalker website.
BookWalker Global describes the story of Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World? as:
War between the five races on earth – the humans, the “Demonic Race”, the “Wild God Race”, the “Spirit Race” and the “Phantom Beast Race”- has ended in the victory of humans. It is said that “Prophet Sid” had sealed the other four races in the black pyramid now called “Crypts”.
Kai’s job is to watch the crypts and make sure that there is no change. He is also training to save humans when the other races break the seal and come back to this world. The crypts looked quiet today…but after Kai felt the world bending in front of his eye…everything changed.
Now Kai is in a totally different world where no one knows him. But he remembers everyone!
