Yanmar Holdings has released a new key visual and additional information for its upcoming Miru: Paths to My Future original anime project. The anime is scheduled to broadcast in Japan sometime in early 2025 as an anthology series for five total episodes.
Veteran anime producer Masuo Ueda (Mobile Suit Gundam Gundam Wing, City Hunter) is credited as executive producer for Miru: Paths to My Future. The project will also feature the involvement of five up-and-coming studios that will be working on it.

Illustrator Yuu Iguchi is credited as the concept artist for the robots in the original anime, while Studio Nue‘s Shigeru Morita (D_Cide Traumerei the Animation) is serving as the scenario writer and scriptwriter. Skyfall is offering production support for the series, while btrax Japan provides planning assistance.
The Miru anime project was first announced in November 2022 as Yanmar Project Socius by Yanmar Holdings — a Japanese manufacturer of agricultural machinery, industrial engines, and other equipment. Yanmar’s design office, which typically designs agricultural and construction machinery, is credited with the anime’s original robot designs.
Yanmar describes the anime’s official synopsis as:
In the distant future, humans create a robot named MIRU capable of traveling through time, visiting various eras, places, and even parallel worlds. Unlike some robots, MIRU isn’t equipped with weapons. Instead, it helps people overcome immense obstacles peacefully, encouraging new beginnings without violence.
MIRU continuously evolves by interacting with people, learning and growing to assist those struggling to survive. It listens to their problems and offers support. By helping others, MIRU sets off a “Butterfly Effect,”* of dramatic change guiding society toward a brighter future.
Why was MIRU created? What is its purpose? Can it save the Earth and humanity from a dystopian future?
