A new teaser PV trailer has been released for the upcoming second season of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online, which previews its opening theme song “GG” by ReoNa. The anime will premiere in Japan in October 2024.
Masayuki Sakoi is directing the second season, with Yosuke Kuroda as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Yoshio Kozakai as character designer, Studio 3Hz was credited as the animation production, although it was announced that the studio had transferred its planning and production business to A-1 Pictures.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes:
- • Tomori Kusunoki as Karen Kohiruimaki/LLENN
- • Yoko Hikasa as Pitohui/Elsa Kanzaki
- • Kazuyuki Okitsu as M/Goshi Asogi
- • Chinatsu Akasaki as Fukaziroh/Miyu Shinohara
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online is based on the light novel series written by Kino’s Journey‘s Keiichi Sigsawa and illustrated by Kouhaku Kuroboshi. The series, which is published under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko label, began on December 10, 2014 and has released 13 volumes as of March 2023. The light novels have also inspired a manga adaptation illustrated by Tadachi Tamori in 2015.

In the world of guns and steel that is Gun Gale Online, LLENN has been a devoted, female solo player. She is obsessed with two things: donning herself entirely in pink and honing her skills with consistent game play. She soon discovers her love for hunting other players (a.k.a. PK), soon to be known as the “Pink Devil.” Meanwhile, LLENN meets a beautiful yet mysterious player, Pitohui, and the two click right away. Doing as she is told by Pitohui, she enters the Squad Jam group battle.
