Asian Kung-Fu Generation Releases New Recording of “Haruka Kanata” to Celebrate 20th Anniversary featured image

Milan Records has released a new version of Asian Kung-Fu Generation’s 2003 hit single “Haruka Kanata,” which was used as the second opening theme for the first season of Naruto. The newly re-recorded song is now available on several music streaming platforms

The new version of “Haruka Kanata” is the highlight from the band’s forthcoming Single Collection compilation album that will be released on July 31, 2024. The album is a 33-track collection of the band’s iconic singles, released in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their major label debut.

Asian Kung-Fu Generation is a four-piece alternative rock band that was first formed in 1996. The band’s current lineup consists of lead vocalist Masafumi Gotoh, lead guitarist Kensuke Kita, bassist Takahiro Yamada, and drummer Kiyoshi Ijichi

Their major label debut was the EP Destructive Amplifier, which was first released on November 25, 2002. It was re-released by Ki/oon Records on April 23, 2003 after the success of “Haruka Kanata.” They have since worked with many international artists like Weezer, Manic Street Preachers, and many more.
