Sound! Euphonium Season 3 has received another visual, this time featuring Kumiko Omae and Reina Kosaka back-to-back with index fingers touching.
It also bears the caption, “The value of youth.”
Sound! Euphonium Season 3 started airing April 7 and is streamed on Crunchyroll. The new season follows Kumiko as she navigates her third year of high school, with her responsibilities as leader of the Kitauji High School band and the arrival of transfer student Mayu, another third-year euphonium player, posing challenges.
Sound! Euphonium is inspired by the Takarajimasha-published novel series by Ayano Takeda, which began in 2013 and has seven main volumes as of 2019. A spin-off with Natsuki Nakagawa as the viewpoint character, Tobitatsu Kimi no Se wo Miageru, was released in 2021. A new short story anthology titled Sound! Euphonium: Kitauji Koukou Suisougakubu no Minna no Hanashi will be released in Japan on June 27 JST.

After a terrible disappointment at the All-Kyoto Concert Band Competition, music has lost its spark for Kumiko. But her first year at Kitauji High School is a chance for a fresh start. So when it comes time to choose a club, she can’t resist joining the band again–even though they’re simply terrible. The first season of the anime debuted in 2015. There also movies in the form of compilations of the first two seasons, the Liz and the Blue Bird spin-off, and 2019’s Sound! Euphonium: Chikai no Finale. A theatrical OVA titled Sound! Euphonium: Ensemble Contest premiered in Japan in August 2023.
