HIDIVE has announced its acquisition of Dungeon People, the upcoming Summer 2024 fantasy anime that’s based on the manga by Sui Hutami.

Before Dungeon People‘s streaming debut, the first episode of the show will be screened at Anime Expo 2024 on July 6. The screening will take place at 403 AB, situated on the Level 2 Concourse of the Los Angeles Convention Center, from 5:45 PM to 6:35 PM Pacific Time.

HIDIVE also released an English-subtitled version of the anime’s first trailer, which was originally revealed in March.

Here’s the synopsis for Dungeon People:

On the hunt for her missing father, master thief Clay heads off into an unexplored dungeon—but much to her surprise, the dungeon’s caretaker offers her a job! Thievery hasn’t worked for her thus far, so perhaps this new career path will take her closer to finding her dad. But change is never easy. From interviewing monster guardians to positioning traps to confound would-be explorers, Clay has a lot to learn about what it means to be one of the dungeon people.

Dungeon People is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 5 (effectively July 6 at 1:53 AM JST). The manga that inspired it debuted in Futabasha’s web Action in 2020 and has four tankoubon volumes as of August 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in English.

HIDIVE recently announced its acquisition of the cosplay-themed romantic comedy anime 2.5 Dimensional Seduction. Other shows that it has secured for the Summer 2024 anime season include Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V, OSHI NO KO Season 2Plus-Sized Elf, and I Parry Everything!
