hololive production VTuber Ookami Mio will not be participating in the upcoming hololive GAMERS fes. Cho-Cho-Cho-Cho GAMERS and MUSIC VERSE Fes. events due to an undisclosed illness that requires long term treatment.
Official announcements were posted by Mio and hololive‘s X (formerly Twitter) accounts in the morning of May 13 JST. According to the latter, Mio had an emergency admission on April 28. Her condition is currently improving.
Mio’s statement said that while the decision was held off till the last minute, the current choice had to be made as the matter of whether or not she would be able to stand on stage remained uncertain. “It’s really frustrating,” she wrote.
The MUSIC VERSE Fes. X account announced that Tsunomaki Watame will participate in Mio’s place following the current developments. The notice also expressed that the MUSIC VERSE Fes. staff were praying for Mio’s recovery.
hololive GAMERS fes. Cho-Cho-Cho-Cho GAMERS is scheduled to be held on May 25 and May 26 at the Yoyogi National Stadium’s 1st Gymnasium with local and overseas streaming options included. hololive GAMERS is a unit that comprises Shirakami Fubuki, Mio, Nekomata Okayu, and Inugami Korone.
MUSIC VERSE Fes. is to be held on June 9 at PACIFICO Yokohama’s National Convention Hall and features a mix of VTubers, VSingers, and non-virtual artists. Other participating hololive members are Oozora Subaru as one of the MCs and Shirakami Fubuki and Nakiri Ayame as artists (Fubuki, Ayame, and Mio form the AyaFubuMi unit).
