The opening and ending animations of My Hero Academia Season 7 have been uploaded to the TOHO animation YouTube channel. The first episode of the new season has also premiered.
Yoshifumi Sasahara (Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning and Akudama Drive assistant director) was in charge of the storyboards and unit direction of the opening, which features TK from Ling Tosite Sigure‘s “Dare Ware Tame” and gives us a peek at Toru Hagakure’s appearance.
Meanwhile, the ending animation has Haruka Iida (My Hero Academia Season 6 ED 1 and 2) on storyboard artist and unit director duties. The song is “Tsubomi” by Omoinotake.
My Hero Academia Season 7 is being streamed on platforms like Crunchyroll, Ani-One Asia, Bilibili, and iQIYI. It features the anime debut of Star and Stripe (Romi Park), the No.1 US Hero. Crunchyroll describes the synopsis as:
Society has crumbled, along with its faith in heroes, with the all-out battle causing great damage. With the heroes defeated, Shigaraki, All For One, and others plot their takeover. As the final battle draws near, Deku, along with his U.A. classmates and other heroes, including one from America, come together to face this onslaught. Will it be enough to restore peace?
The first My Hero Academia season started airing in 2016. The anime adapts the Weekly Shonen Jump manga by Kohei Horikoshi, which began in 2014 and has reached 40 tankoubon volumes as of April 2024. A fourth anime movie, titled My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next, is set to screen in Japan from August 2.
Viz Media describes the manga as:
Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…
