A short teaser for the first Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu-hen movie installment has been released, previewing shots of the Nijigasaki girls in Okinawa.
The Chapter 1 teaser also shows in clearer light the movie’s different take on the Nijigasaki character designs. The depiction of the characters here has resemblances to the art of Bocchi the Rock! character designer Kerorira, who is credited as visual director for the movie.
Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu-hen is a film trilogy that serves as the sequel to the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club TV anime’s two seasons and follow-up OVA. Chapter 1 has a September 6 Japanese release date.
The movie’s plot has the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club receiving an invitation to the Idol GPX (Grand Prix), leading to Ayumu, Kasumi, Shizuku, Kanata, Ema, and Lanzhu heading off to Okinawa. Participants of the Idol GPX compete against one another as individuals, which causes Ayumu to have conflicted feelings.
The first season of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club ran from October to December 2020, while the second season ran from April to June 2022. The OVA was released in 2023.

Nijigasaki High School is known for their diverse subjects and the freedom they give to students. Second-year student Yu Takasaki has been turned on to the charms of school idols, so she knocks on the door of the School Idol Club with her friend, Ayumu Uehara. Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is one of the Love Live! multimedia franchise’s series. Its starting cast was announced in 2017 as part of the now-defunct Love Live! School Idol Festival game’s PERFECT Dream Project anniversary project.
One of the cast mainstays, Tomori Kusunoki, left her role as Setsuna Yuki on March 31, 2023 due to medical reasons.
