A new PV trailer has been revealed for the ongoing Tosochu: The Great Mission TV anime series, which teases the “next stage” of the anime’s overall story. The ongoing TV anime series first premiered in Japan on April 2, 2023 and will air for two more cours.
KiraKira☆Pretty Cure A La Mode‘s Yukio Kaizawa and Kohei Kureta are directing the anime, with Tomohiro Nakayama (One Piece scriptwriter) as screenwriter, Takeshi Okano (AT Lady! manga artist) as original character designer, and Yoichi Oonishi (Kanon 2002) as character designer. Toei Animation is handling the animation production for the series.
Other staff include Kentaro Akiyama (Shojo☆Kageki Revue Starlight Movie co-art director) as co-art director, Shohei Tamura (Looking for Magical Doremi monitor designer) as 3D stage designer, and Kotaro Nakagawa (Code Geass co-composer) as music composer.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast stars:

- • Yumiko Kobayashi as Haru Tomoya
- • Ryotaro Okiayu as Maurice Shoemaker
The anime series is inspired by the Japanese game show Run for the Money, which aired in 2004 as a Fuji TV special program. A Netflix reboot was released in 2022. It was also turned into a short-lived 2008 U.S. show titled Cha$e and in China as a variety show called Run for Time.

Tosochu: The Great Mission takes place in a future where mankind has inhabited the moon, and a game called “Tosochu” is immensely popular with the moon colony population. The game takes place within a limited area and sees participants avoiding capture by androids until the countdown reaches zero. A high amount of cash is offered as the ultimate prize.
