A new PV trailer has been released for the upcoming A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero fantasy TV anime series. The show is scheduled to premiere in Japan in July 2024.
The trailer was revealed at TOKYO MX’s booth stage at AnimeJapan 2024 and also revealed the addition of Azumi Waki as Haruka Katsuragi and Mayu Sagara as Luceria to the cast.
They join lead voice actors Yuuya Hozumi as Kaito Takagi and Kana Hanazawa as Sylphie.
Tomoki Kobayashi (Remake Our Life) is serving as the anime’s director at Gekkou, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess) as series screenwriter, Sachiko Yasuda (Our Happy Marriage) as character designer, and Keiji Inai (Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion) as music composer.
The anime is based on the fantasy light novels written by Kaito and illustrated by Arumikku, which first began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on April 9, 2019. It was then published by Hobby Japan’s HJ Bunko imprint on July 1, 2021 and has released eight volumes as of February 2024. The series also inspired a manga adaptation by Terio Teri in August 2021.
The light novel’s Japanese title is Mob Kara Hajimaru Tansaku Eiyuu Tan, which roughly translates to the unofficial English title The Story of An Exploration Hero Who Has Worked His Way Up From Common People.
A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero follows average high school Kaito Takagi, who is your typical mob background character. One day, mysterious dungeons begin appearing in Japan, with Kaito finding himself hunting slimes every day while admiring his childhood friend from afar. His luck changes after he defeats a gold slime and gains a super rare summoning item called the Servant Card. Using his newfound treasure, he summons a beautiful warrior maiden to change his fortunes.
