Umamusume: Pretty Derby Road to the Top Receives Theatrical Film with New Scenes on May 10 featured image

The production committee for the Umamusume: Pretty Derby Road to the Top web anime series announced that it will be receiving a theatrically edited film that will screen in Japanese theaters on May 10, 2024. The series first premiered on April 16, 2023.  

All four episodes of the series are still available to watch on YouTube with subtitles in multiple languages. 

Chengzhi Liao (Anima Yell! photography director) directed the web anime series, with Tetsuya Obari (Umamusume: Pretty Derby game 1st Anniversary Special Animation scenario director) as scenario director and series screenwriter. Cygames Pictures handled the animation production for the series, taking over from Studio Kai, who was the production company for the second and third seasons of the Umamusume: Pretty Derby TV anime series. 

Other staff for Road to the Top include Jun Yamazaki (Bocchi the Rock!, My Dress-Up Darling animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, Minami Kiyonaga (Umamusume: Pretty Derby 1st Anniversary Special Animation) as character design supervisor, Ayumi Nakahara (“Let You Down” music video) as color designer, and Si Zhi Song (Six Hearts Princess photography staff) as photography director.

The anime’s main voice cast stars:

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a mixed-media project developed by Cygames that has inspired several anime TV series, films, a social mobile game, a party console game, a stage play, and some manga series.
