The Qiddiya Investment Company announced that it is planning and developing the first ever theme park for the Dragon Ball franchise in Saudi Arabia. An opening date was not revealed, but construction on the project is expected to commence soon.
Qiddiya also posted a 56-second promotional video of the theme park on its YouTube channel. The promotional artwork for the project also highlights a 70-meter-high Shenron rollercoaster.
The theme park will span for around 500,000 square meters of land, and will feature seven lands themed areas based on the Dragon Balls from the series. More than 30 themed rides will be built across the lands, along with five major attractions, hotels, and restaurants. Iconic landmarks will also be featured such as Kame House, Capsule Corporation, and Beerus’ Planet.

Qiddiya’s project announcement comes as the Dragon Ball manga commemorates its 40th anniversary and the news of series creator Akira Toriyama’s death was revealed.
