Bye Bye, Earth is based on the 2000 fantasy novel by Tow Ubukata, which was published by Kadokawa Shoten as a two-parter in tankoubon format. Yoshitaka Amano provided the illustrations. The story follows a solitary girl called Belle, who lacks the traits of any race. Leaving her master’s side with a special sword in her hand, Belle takes on trials in order to become a traveler.

From 2007 to 2008, the novels were republished under the Kadokawa Bunko label with four volumes and with Kim Hyung Tae as illustrator. A Shonengahosha-published manga adaptation by Ryuu Asahi began in 2020.

Crunchyroll will stream the anime in “more than 200 countries and territories.”
