The Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai anime has received a second trailer, which previews the newly announced opening theme song “poi” by Saucy Dog.

Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai (A Crow Does Not Choose Its Master), which premieres on April 6, is based on the second installment of Chisato Abe‘s Yatagarasu fantasy series. The official anime website describes the plot as:

Yamauchi, a fantastic world where the Yatagarasu live —

Yukiya, a young Yatagarasu, is appointed as the personal attendant of the eccentric Crown Prince Wakamiya. Soon, he is entangled in a web of conspiracies attempting to overthrow the heir to the Imperial throne.

The Yatagarasu series began in 2012, while Abe was in university. The first part ended in 2017, and 2020 saw the release of the first volume of Part 2. The books allowed Abe to become the youngest recipient of the Seichou Matsumoto Prize. The first two volumes have inspired manga adaptations by Natsumi Matsuzaki.
