Anime Trending has wrapped up its 10th Anime Trending Awards, which saw Tengoku-Daimakyo winning Anime of the Year and The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes winning Anime Movie of the Year. As before, we have messages from some of the winners expressing their thoughts and feelings on their respective wins.

Hirotaka Mori, director of Tengoku-Daimakyo, on the show’s Anime of the Year win:

“I want to thank you all for the honor… It is a show with many struggles and I believe there are new things to discover each time you watch it.”


Kanna Hirayama on winning Best Character Design for her work on OSHI NO KO:

“I believe that we were able to receive such a prestigious award thanks to the wonderful original work and the hard work of the staff.”


Daisuke Hiramaki, director of OSHI NO KO, on the show’s Drama Anime of the Year Win:

“We will continue to create enjoyable works in the future, so please continue to enjoy them.”


YOASOBI on winning Opening Theme Song of the Year with OSHI NO KO’s “Idol”:

“It is very moving to know that our music is reaching the world together with our favorite work OSHI NO KO.”


Jin Tanaka on winning Best in Adapted Screenplay for OSHI NO KO:

“I am very happy that this project was enjoyed by so many people…”


Takehiro Kubota, director of My Happy Marriage, on the anime winning “Romance Anime of the Year” and “Best Voice Acting Performance – Female” (for Reina Ueda as Miyo Saimori):

“… it makes me very happy knowing that anime fans from around the world have watched it and even given it such praise.”


Hiroaki Takagi, director of The Dangers in My Heart, on its Couple or Ship of the Year win:

“To me, when receiving this award, I could imagine… Anna Yamada jumping and hugging [Kyotaro] Ichikawa out of pure joy!”


Music composer Yamada Yutaka on Vinland Saga Season 2’s Best in Soundtrack win

“Even among the different series I’ve worked on, the power of internalization and emotion makes it an incredibly impactful anime.”


Seiichirou Yamashita on winning Best Voice Acting Performance (Male) as The Eminence in Shadow’s Cid Kagerou:

“… I will continue to work hard to become the ‘eminence’ in the world of acting.”


Megumi Han, voice of OSHI NO KO’s Kana Arima, on the show’s Best in Voice Cast win, and on Kana winning Girl of the Year and Supporting Girl of the Year:

“Once again, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for being able to reach you across the ocean and become your ‘oshi no ko.’”


Kazuki Endo, TV Asahi producer, on The Dangers in My Heart’s Couple or Ship of the Year win:

“If Ichikawa and Yamada’s charms are able to captivate people all over the world, nothing else could bring me more joy as the producer for this project.”
