The Crunchyroll Awards 2024 was held at and livestreamed from Tokyo with Sally Amaki and Jon Kabira as hosts. The awards also featured a colorful and slightly unusual lineup of presenters that included artists Megan Thee Stallion and LiSA, The Marvel‘s Iman Vellani, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘s co-director Joaquim Dos Santos and co-writers Phil Lord & Chris Miller, Parasite director Bong Joon Ho, the NFL’s DeMarcus Lawrence, wrestler Mercedes Varnado, and Indian actor Rashmika Mandanna.
The nomination list was revealed in January. According to Crunchyroll, 34 million votes were cast this year (the nominees are decided by a panel of judges who also get to vote).
