A new main key visual and additional voice cast members have been revealed for the upcoming Re:Monster TV anime series. The series will premiere on April 4, 2024 in Japan, and on the Japanese U-NEXT and Anime Hodai services on April 1, 2024.

The main visual showcases protagonist Gobrou’s monster mercenary group Parabellum, as well as new characters Hobsei, Hobsato, and three human women.

The new voice cast members include: 

  • • Aya Yamane as Hobsei
  • • Nichika Oomori as Hobsato
  • • Hibiku Yamamura as Twins
  • • Miyuri Shimabukuro as the Blacksmith
  • • Hisako Toujou as the Alchemist

The latest additions join a main cast that consists of: 

  • • Takuya Satou as Goburo
  • • Kenta Hosoda as Gobukichi
  • • Ai Kakuma as Gobumi
  • • Kana Ueda as Gobue
  • • Mai Kanno as The Redhead

Takayuki Inagaki (Birdie Wing -Golf Girls’ Story-) is directing the anime, with Hiroshi Yamaguchi (Grimms Notes the Animation) as series screenwriter, Junichi Takaoka (Choujuushin Gravion) as character designer, and Gou Sakabe (Kizuna no Allele) as music composer. Studio DEEN is in charge of the animation production. 

The original light novel series was written by Kogitsune Kanekiru and published by Alphapolis from August 7, 2012 to August 3, 2017. Most of the Re:Monster books are illustrated by Yamaada, with NAJI yanagida illustrating the “Dark Continent” installments. Ten volumes have been released as of August 2017, which includes a side story and extra volume.

Prior to becoming a light novel series, Re:Monster began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou that ran from 2011 until 2018. The “Dark Continent” story arc began on July 2, 2018 and has three volumes as of July 2020. 

A manga adaptation by Haruyoshi Kobayakawa was released in 2014, with 10 tankoubon volumes released as of September 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the manga adaptation in English.

Crunchyroll will stream Re:Monster outside of Japan, describing the synopsis as: 

After meeting an untimely death, Tomokui Kanata is reincarnated as a lowly goblin, but he’s worked up a monstrous appetite. Thanks to his new ability that allows him to grow stronger the more he feeds, his feeble status quickly changes, and he rises to become the goblin leader. With a mix of his past memories, new body, and strong stomach, he’s taking a bite out of this new fantastical world!
