The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil TV anime series has announced the addition of two new voice cast members, who will appear starting in the anime’s sixth episode. The anime first premiered in Japan on January 9, 2024.
Voice actors Kaori Ishihara (left) and Ryoutarou Okiayu (right) are voicing the characters Lilia and Zwei, respectively.
They join a main voice cast that includes:
- • Yuuma Uchida as Masatora
- • Ayane Sakura as Lily
- • Shuuichirou Umeda as Yuya Tanigawa
- • Shunichi Toki as Kensaku Hirota
- • Nao Toyama as Yuka Tanahashi
- • Rie Kugimiya as Liz
Itsurou Kawasaki (The Yakuza’s Guide to Babysitting director) is directing the series and serving as screenwriter, with Takahiro Tamano (Cap Kakumei Bottleman DX) as assistant director, Yuuko Yahiro (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) as character designer, Minami Minakata as sub-character designer, and Takurou Iga (OSHI NO KO) as music composer. Children’s Playground Entertainment is in charge of the animation production, with GAINA providing animation production assistance.
The anime is based on Sawayoshi Azuma‘s manga series, originally published under the title Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru (Stupid Angel Dances with the Devil). It began serialization in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maou on June 27, 2016 and has released 18 tankoubon volumes as of January 2024.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime outside of Japan and describes the synopsis as:
Determined to protect his demon world from heavenly angels, demon Masatora Akutsu heads to earth in search of a charismatic human to rally his kin. Masquerading as a high schooler for his recruitment mission, he’s captivated by the lovely Lily Amane.
But he’s in for a wild celestial surprise because she’s his archnemesis—an angel—and she’s set on reforming his demonic ways!
