Make A Girl, the first theatrical anime from animation creator Genshou Yasuda, has received its first teaser video and a teaser visual with “light” and “dark” variants. The main cast was also revealed.
Atsumi Tanezaki is playing Number 0, an android created by the boy Akira to be his girlfriend. Akira is voiced by Shun Horie.
Make A Girl is based on Yasuda’s 2020 short Make Love, which was made with Blender. Make A Girl had a crowdfunding campaign that ran from August 2022 to October 2022 and raised 23,730,805 yen (~US$160,429.45), surpassing its 10 million yen target. Another crowdfunding campaign was launched in late 2023 for increased quality and completion purposes; this one ran from September to October 2023 and raised 23,176,413 yen. The Campfire page for the latter says that a Fall 2024 release date is planned for the anime.
Aside from being the director and creator, Yasuda is also the scriptwriter, storyboard artist, and CD director for Make A Girl.
