The anime adaptation of The Fable, which begins airing in April, has gotten a main visual and its first cast info drop. It was also revealed that the show will run for two consecutive cours.
The cast members announced this time are:
• Kazuyuki Okitsu as Akira Satou
• Miyuki Sawashiro as Yoko Satou
• Kana Hanazawa as Misaki Shimizu
• Akio Ootsuka as Takeshi Ebihara
• Kenjirou Tsuda as Kenji Kojima
• Tetsuo Komura as Boss
• Jun Fukushima as Jackal Tomioka
The Fable manga ran from 2014 to 2019 in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine and was collected into 22 tankoubon volumes. It was followed by The Fable: The Second Contact, which began in 2021 and ended in 2023 with nine volumes.
Kodansha USA describes the plot as:
When you’re the infamous “genius killer” hitman The Fable, many things come easy. Being a normal person, however, isn’t one of them. In fact, being told that he can’t kill anyone for a while may just be the hardest job he’s ever taken…
The manga has inspired a short story manga collection as well as a live-action movie duology.
The anime was announced in July 2023. One of the character designers listed at the time, Junichi Hayama (pet), is no longer featured in the staff credits.
