Aniplex has released a new 1-minute trailer for the Japanese language dub of the Dragon Raja donghua series. It will begin broadcasting in Japan under the title Ryuzoku: The Blazing Dawn in April 2024 and be released internationally by Aniplex.

A second season of Dragon Raja was announced in November 2022, with a premiere date still uncertain.

Voice actors that will dub the series in Japanese include Daiki Yamashita as Lu Mingfei, Ayumu Murase as Lu Mingze, and Kaede Hondo as Motong Chen.

The 16-episode Chinese animated series was produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures and Garden Culture, with the animation production being handled by the animation studio HANABARA Animation. The first season aired in China from August 19, 2022 to Nov 25, 2022.

The donghua is based on the Dragon Raja (Long Zu) novel series written by Chinese author Jiang Nan. A total of six volumes were published from April 2010 to December 2015.

The novels consist of five story arcs, a prequel short story, and an anthology novella. In addition to an animated series, the novels have also been adapted into a manhua comic and video game powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4.

Garden Culture describe the synopsis of the Dragon Raja as:

An ordinary and unlucky high school student, Lu Mingfei, one day received an admission letter from Kassel College, a foreign private university. After hesitating and hesitating, Lu Mingfei decided to find out. So far, he has stepped into the world where the “Dragon” exists, his life has undergone earth-shaking changes, and he has embarked on the journey of “slaying the dragon.”
