A new teaser visual and PV trailer have been released for Touken Ranbu Kai: Kyoden Moyuru Honnouji TV anime series, which is scheduled to premiere in April 2024. The visual and trailer were released as part of the “Touken Ranbu Online Ninth Anniversary’s Eve! Nine Big Announcements Starting at Nine” event.
The anime project was first announced in 2022 and is based on the 2016 Touken Ranbu: Kyoden Moyuru Honnouji stage play.
The production staff team for Touken Ranbu Kai consists of Kazuya Ichikawa (Romantic Killer) as director, Kenichi Suemitsu (Delico’s Nursery) as screenwriter and scriptwriter, Mari Takada (Bakugan: Legends) as character designer, Hiroyuki Nemoto (My Dress Up Darling) as art director, and Ryuunosuke Kasai (Miss Shachiku and the Little Baby Ghost) as music composer. Domerica is handling the animation production for the series.
Several cast members from the Touken Ranbu franchise are reprising their respective voice roles, including:

The Touken Ranbu franchise previously inspired a 2016 TV series and 2017 anime series, as well as a recent anime film.
The original Touken Ranbu sword-raising simulation game was first launched for PC in Japan on January 14, 2015. It is described as a free-to-play collectible card online game, developed by Nitroplus and DMM Games.
