A new key visual has been revealed for the second cour of Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange, which will return to air on January 6, 2024. This week’s broadcast of the anime series was a special episode 12.5 recap episode and the show will be on break next week. 

Masahiko Murata (To Your Eternity Season 1) is directing the anime series, with Shinzou Fujita (To Your Eternity) as series screenwriter, and Hitomi Tsuruta (Futsal Boys!!!!! sub-character designer) and Kouji Yabuno (To Your Eternity) as character designers. Brain’s Base is in charge of the animation production.

Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast includes:

  • • Ayane Sakura as Yuki Nakamura
  • • Yuuichi Nakamura as Sadaie Matoi
  • • Tetsu Inada as Kyousuke Yamagami

  • • Ryouta Iwasaki as Watari
  • • Katsuyuki Konishi as Daigo Asahina
  • • Takehito Koyasu as Shiro Amakasu

The anime is based on the manga written by Masahito Soda and illustrated by Kuro Tomiyama, which has run in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine since October 6, 2020. Eight tankoubon volumes have been released as of October 2023. 

Soda’s 2020 manga is a spin-off sequel to his original Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M manga series, which was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shounen Sunday from September 6, 1995 to June 16, 1999. Twenty tankoubon volumes were released in total. 

The original manga also inspired a 1999 anime film from Sunrise and an 11-episode live-action television drama series that aired on Fuji TV from January 6, 2004 to March 16, 2004.
