A commemorative visual has been released for The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch TV anime series, celebrating the anime’s finale on December 17, 2023. The 12-episode series first aired in Japan on October 1, 2023.
Masahiro Takata (The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) is directing the anime series, with Gyro Knuckle as series screenwriter, and Miwa Yoshida (Fate/Apocrypha Episode 7 co-animation director) as character designer and chief animation director. A-Real is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes:

- • You Taichi as Giriko
- • Akira Sekine as Luna
- • Takayuki Kondou as Fennel
- • Daisuke Ono as Grind
The fantasy comedy anime is based on the manga series by Piroya, which was first serialized on Flex Comix’s Comic Meteor website under the Meteor Comics label on July 3, 2019. It was originally a one-shot manga published in 2018. Six tankoubon volumes were released as of October 2023.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime and describes the synopsis as:
Alyssa, a witch who lives alone in the woods, finds a human baby one day. Despite her bewilderment, she names the child Viola and decides to raise her. 16 years later, Viola has grown far more than Alissa ever imagined… Wait, she grew too much! And so, the chaotic comedy of a mother and daughter with inverted appearances begins!!
