The Mission: Yozakura Family anime adaptation has released its first trailer, which introduces the main characters of the show and reveals its April 2024 Japanese premiere window.
The staff of the Silver Link-produced anime was also revealed. They include Mirai Minato (director of Masamune-kun’s Revenge, The Dungeon of Black Company, next January’s Sasaki and Peeps) as director and series composer, Mizuki Takahashi (Kizuna no Allele co-chief animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and Sus4’s Kouji Fujimoto (Ragna Crimson) and Osamu Sasaki (Ragna Crimson) as music composers.
Mission: Yozakura Family is based on the Shueisha-published action-comedy manga by Hitsuji Gondaira. Viz Media describes the plot as:
Taiyo Asano is a super-shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura. However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers. Her oldest brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessed with Mutsumi and out to kill anyone who gets remotely near her—and his next target is Taiyo! The only way for Taiyo to save himself from Kyoichiro’s murderous clutches is to marry Mutsumi!
The manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2020 and has 20 tankoubon volumes as of November 2023.
