A teaser visual for the Hell’s Paradise anime’s second season has been released.
It was also announced that Ryuuta Suzuki will be joining the cast as Yamada Asaemon Shugen.
The first season ran from April to June, with Crunchyroll streaming the show outside Japan. The anime is based on the Shueisha-published manga by Yuuji Kaku that ran from 2018 to 2021 on Shonen Jump+ and is collected into 13 tankoubon volumes.
Viz Media describes the manga, which it publishes as Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku, as:
Gabimaru the Hollow is one of the most vicious assassins ever to come out of the ninja village of Iwagakure. He’s ruthlessly efficient, but a betrayal results in him being handed a death sentence. He has only one hope—in order to earn his freedom, he must travel to a long-hidden island and recover an elixir that will make the shogun immortal. Failure is not an option. On this island, heaven and hell are just a hair’s breadth away.
Season 1’s staff includes Kaori Makita (Saezuru Tori Wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather) as director, Akira Kindaichi (I’m Quitting Heroing scriptwriter) as series composer, Kouji Hisaki (Saezuru Tori Wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather co-main animator) as character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa (Call of the Night) as music composer. MAPPA is the animation production company.
