Disney began streaming a special video highlighting the anime segments of its upcoming live-action/anime fantasy TV series Dragons of Wonderhatch. The series is set to be released globally on December 20, 2023 on Disney+. 

The video also revealed the addition of four new voice cast members for the anime segments, which include: 

  • • Yuu Shimamura as Kate
  • • Kenta Miyake as Byce
  • • Jun Fukuyama as Gatz
  • • Shimba Tsuchiya as Maul

The new cast members join Kenjirou Tsuda as Gyro and Shunsuke Takeuchi as Tyme. 

Kentarou Hagiwara (Tokyo Ghoul live-action movie) is directing the live-action portions of the series while Takashi Ootsuka (One Piece Stampede, Smile PreCure!) is directing the animated segments. Posuka Demizu (The Promised Neverland manga artist) is credited with the original character design and concept art, while Production I.G is handling the animation production. 

Meanwhile, the live-action cast for Dragons of Wonderhatch include: 

  • • Sena Nakajima as Nagi
  • • Daiken Okudaira as Tyme
  • • Yoshito Emmanuelle as Son
  • • Mackenyu as Akuta. 
  • • Rena Tanaka as Hana
  • • Masaki Miura as Taichi
  • • Riko Narumi as Ayana Nijisaki
  • • SUMIRE as Saira

The story follows a high school girl in the real world named Nagi, who meets a mysterious boy from another world named Tyme. He comes from another world where dragons exist and Dragonriders can communicate and battle with each other.
