The Shaman King: Flowers anime has received a 30-second trailer previewing its newly announced opening theme song and a January 9 (effectively January 10 at 12 AM JST) Japanese premiere date.
The opening song is titled “Turn the World” and is performed by Nana Mizuki.
Shaman King: Flowers is based on the Shaman King sequel manga of the same name by Hiroyuki Takei, which ran from 2012 to 2014 in Shueisha’s Jump X before being followed up by the ongoing Shaman King: The Super Star. Kodansha describes the plot as:
The action returns in this brand-new sequel to SHAMAN KING! Hana Asakura finds that being the son of Yoh & Anna Asakura isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and his boredom has him itching for any kind of excitement. But when a fight comes straight to his doorstep, it’s from a place he least expects—his own family? The battle for Asakura supremacy begins!
The Shaman King manga ran from 1998 to 2004 with 32 tankoubon volumes. It was originally published by Shueisha before being republished by Kodansha in 2018. Aside from Flowers and The Super Star., it also inspired the 2011 Shaman King: Zero manga and various spin-offs.
Shaman King originally inspired a 2001 to 2002 anime adaptation. The Flowers anime is a follow-up to the more recent 2021 adaptation.
