Crunchyroll announced earlier last weekend that it will be shutting down its digital manga service starting December 11, 2023, for both web and mobile applications. The company encouraged users to visit the Crunchyroll Store to purchase manga series in stock.

The company previously sent out an email to Crunchyroll users stating that digital manga will no longer be available on the service beginning November 7, 2023. The service is still currently active as of today.

The Crunchyroll Manga service was first launched in October 2013 and simultaneously published titles from Kodansha USA in over 170 countries. Fourteen simulpub titles and 10 catalog titles were removed from the service in February 2018 and in March 2018. Kodansha USA then announced that several of its manga titles would be removed on January 31, 2023.

Kodansha later launched its own K MANGA digital manga app exclusively in the U.S. earlier this May.
