Two new character PV trailers have been released for the upcoming Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I’m Not the Demon Lord TV anime series. The show is scheduled to premiere sometime in January 2024.
The character PV trailers highlight the second prince Edwin Valschein (voiced by Taku Yashiro) and the original game heroine Alica Ehnleit (voiced by Azumi Waki).
Yashiro and Waki are part of a main voice cast that includes:
- • Fairouz Ai as Yumiella Dolkness
- • Yuuma Uchida as Patrick Ashbatten
- • Haruki Ishiya as William Ares
- • Kouhei Amasaki as Oswald Grimsarde
Minoru Yamaoka (Zo Zo Zo Zombie-kun, Wakako-zake) is directing the anime, with Fumihiko Shimo (Date A Live IV) as screenwriter and Kana Utatane (Akebi’s Sailor Uniform) as music composer. Hitomi Kaiho (Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Ep 1 and 2 co-chief animation director) and Lo Ho Kim (Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer Ep 1 co-chief animation director) are serving as the character designers. Jumondou is the animation production company for the series.
The anime is based on the light novels written by Satori Tanabata and Illustrated by Tea, which began on May 10, 2019. Five volumes have been released as of June 2022. The light novels are published under Kadokawa’s Enterbrain imprint and originated as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel on June 15, 2018. It also inspired a manga adaptation by Nokomi in 2020, which is being released in English by One Peace Books.
