The Kaiju No. 8 anime has received its third Kaiju Hyakkei (dubbed Daily Life with Kaiju by the English X [formerly Twitter] account) visual. The new illustration has Soshiro Hoshina diving into action with his blades while Mina Ashiro and her tiger observe from the roof of a building.
Kaiju No. 8 is based on the Shueisha-published manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which started serialization on Shonen Jump+ in 2020 and has 10 tankoubon volumes as of August 2023. VIZ Media describes the manga as:
Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.
Production I.G is producing the anime with Studio Khara credited with kaiju supervision (design and artwork). The staff has yet to be revealed. Crunchyroll will stream the show in Spring 2024.
