Midnight Grand Orchestra, the music unit composed of composer/producer Taku Inoue and Hololive VTuber Hoshimachi Suisei, has released an animated music video for its newly released song, “Midnight Mission.”

Directed by RIRI Yamashita (“Abyssal Zone,” “Toumeina Shinzouga Naiteita”), who also handled the storyboards and character designs, the bulk of the video shows Hoshimachi confidently making her way through a nighttime city and bursting into energetic and mesmerizingly animated dances. A parade of outlandish creatures make appearances in various parts of the video to provide a unique backdrop to Hoshimachi’s performance.

The video’s dance choreography comes from Randy Xtravaganza, with GOMI performing the moves for the animators’ reference. Some of the other credits include DENCE inc.’s Kotaro Hasegawa as cinematographer and NOZOMI as the creature designer and animator.

“Midnight Mission” is now out on platforms like Spotify and the iTunes Store. “Midnight Mission” is also the name of Midnight Grand Orchestra’s upcoming first live performance, which will be held on February 20, 2024 at Toyosu Pit.
