Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy- Season 2 will premiere in January 2024. The first season of the anime, which is based on the AlphaPolis-published light novels penned by Kei Azumi and illustrated by Mitsuaki Matsumoto, aired in 2021 with 12 episodes. Crunchyroll describes the premise as:

Makoto Misumi was just an average teenager who suddenly was summoned to another world as a “hero.” But the goddess of this world called him ugly and took his hero status away from him, then sent him to the ends of the world. He meets dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and many other non-human races in the wastelands. Makoto manages to show promise in the use of magic and fighting, which he wouldn’t have been able to do in his former world. He has numerous encounters, but will he be able to survive this new world? A fantasy where a guy who gods and humanity had abandoned tries to reset his life in this new world is about to begin!

Season 2 is produced by J.C.Staff instead of C2C, although main staff members like director Shinji Ishikawa, series composer Kenta Ihara, character designer Yukie Suzuki, and music composer Yasuharu Takanashi are still on board.

The light novels began publication in 2013 and have 19 volumes (including a side story volume) as of August 2022. The series, which originated from a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel, has also inspired a manga by Kotora Kino
