Ragna Crimson Releases Special Video Highlighting Leonica featured image

A special video for the Ragna Crimson TV anime series has been released, highlighting Leonica and recapping previous scenes between her and the protagonist, Ragna. The anime series first premiered on October 1, 2023 and will run for two cours at 24 episodes

The special video also features the anime’s main ending theme “Rinkaku” by Watashi Kobayashi

Ken Takahashi (Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA Licht Nameless Girl assistant director) is directing the anime, with Shinpei Aoki (The Dungeon of Black Company prop designer) as character designer, and Deko Akao (When Will Ayumu Make His Move?) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter. SILVER LINK is in charge of the animation production. 

Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi as Ragna, Ayumu Murase as Crimson, Inori Minase as Leonica, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Disas Trois, Kouzou Shioya as Temruogtaf, Yoshihito Sasaki as Michael, Takashi Matsuyama as King Femud, and Nobutoshi Canna as Future Ragna.

The anime is based on the dark fantasy manga series by Daiki Kobayashi, which first ran in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker on March 22, 2017. Twelve tankoubon volumes have been released as of June 2023.

Sentai Filmworks licensed Ragna Crimson to stream on its HIDIVE streaming service and describes the synopsis as: 

Dragons reign terror over the earth, sea and sky. If sworn dragon hunters like Ragna are to have any hope of dealing death to these seemingly invincible, fire-breathing beasts, they must find a way to level the odds. Ragna teams up with a mysterious man named Crimson who has likewise sworn to stand against the dragons menacing the world. But although Crimson’s motivations may be mysterious, his goal and Ragna’s perfectly align, and together they’ll fight to vanquish the dragons once and for all.
