That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Coleus no Yume is based on a short story by That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime author Fuse that served as the basis and inspiration for the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond movie. The OVA, which was announced in February as part of the series’ 10th anniversary project, takes place between the events of the anime’s first and second seasons and sees Rimuru dealing with a conspiracy in the Kingdom of Coleus.
The staff includes Atsushi Nakayama (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2) as director, Toshizou Nemoto (Backflip!!) as series composer, Ryouma Ebata (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as character designer, and Takahiro Kishida (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as monster designer, with Eight Bit as the animation production company.
The That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime series is based on Taiki Kawakami‘s Kodansha-published manga adaptation of Fuse’s isekai fantasy light novels, which is serialized in Monthly Shonen Sirius and published under the Sirius KC label. The manga began in 2015 and has 24 tankoubon volumes as of September 8, 2023. A third season of the anime is in the works.
Crunchyroll describes the anime series as:
