A new main visual has been released for the upcoming second cour of Dr. Stone: New World. The visual highlights the upcoming battle between Senku and Ibara. The anime is scheduled to premiere on October 12, 2023.
Dr. Stone: New World is the third overall season of the Dr. Stone anime adaptation. The first cour premiered in Japan on April 6, 2023 and ran for 11 episodes. Seasons one and two aired in 2019 and 2021, respectively. A one-off special focused on Ryuusui was released in 2022. Crunchyroll, Bilibili, and iQIYI are streaming the series overseas.
The anime’s production staff features many staff members returning from previous seasons, including Yuuichirou Kido as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Mayuko Iwasa as character designer, Hiroyuki Horiuchi as main animator, and Tatsuya Katou, Hiroaki Tsutsumi, and YUKI KANESAKA as music composers. The director for season three is the “Ryusei” special’s Shuuhei Matsushita (Yu-No: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World assistant director) instead of the first two seasons’ Shinya Iino. TMS Entertainment is in charge of the animation production for the series.
Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes Yuusuke Kobayashi as Senku Ishigami, Ryouta Suzuki as Ryusui Nanami, Makoto Furukawa as Taiju Oki, Kana Ichinose as Yuzuriha Ogawa, and Manami Numakura as Kohaku. Some of the third season’s newest additions include Maaya Sakamoto as Francois and Saori Oonishi as Amaryllis.
The original manga series is written by Riichirou Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. It ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from March 6, 2017 to March 7, 2022, with a total of 26 tankoubon volumes released. Viz Media releases the manga in English.

With the Stone Wars over, the former members of Tsukasa’s Empire of Might join forces with the Kingdom of Science to build a ship capable of sailing across open ocean to seek answers on the mystery of the global petrification.
