The bishojo game-themed 16bit Sensation: Another Layer anime has received a character PV ahead of its October 4 (effectively October 5 at 12:30 AM JST) Japanese premiere date. The trailer’s presentation style is described as a homage to bishojo game opening sequences.

16bit Sensation: Another Layer is inspired by the KADOKAWA-published 16bit Sensation manga by Tamiki Wakaki and the preceding 2016 doujinshi created by Mitsumi Misato and Aquaplus’ Tatsuki Amazuyu. The anime sees original character Konoha Akisato being transported to 1992, the initial time period of the manga, and becoming an employee of game developer Alcohol Soft.

Konoha is voiced by Aoi Koga, while Yui Horie voices the manga’s heroine Meiko Uehara. Other cast members include Atsushi Abe as Mamoru Rokuta, Ayako Kawasumi as Kaori Shimota, Kentarou Itou as Tenchou, Jun Fukushima as Jiangshi, and Aya Yamane as Touya Yamada.

16bit Sensation: Another Layer is produced by st. Silver with Takashi Sakuma (Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld assistant director) as director, Masakatsu Sasaki (We Never Learn) as character designer and Yashikin (Sword Art Online series’ “Meaning The Start” and “Memory Calibur” composer et al.) as music composer. Wakaki and Tatsuya Takahashi (Idoly Pride series composer) are credited with the main story.

The manga published its first tankoubon volume in September 2020 and its second volume in November 2021.
