A new key visual has been unveiled for the second season of Mix: Meisei Story and once again highlights the series’ four main characters. Season two first premiered in Japan on April 1, 2023, with the latest episode airing on September 2, 2023.
The second season is being directed by Tomohiro Kamitani (Katana Maidens: Tomoshibi OVA) with Atsuhiro Tomioka (Battle Spirits: Gallet’s Revolution) returning from season one as series screenwriter and Takao Maki (Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls) as character designer. OLM is handling the animation production for the anime.

Meanwhile, the voice cast includes Yuuki Kaji as Toma Tachibana, Yuuma Uchida as Soichiro Tachibana, Maaya Uchida as Otomi Tachibana, and Kana Hanazawa as Haruka Ooyama.
The first season of Mix: Meisei Story aired in 2019 with 24 total episodes. It is based on the Mix manga series by Mitsuru Adachi, which was first serialized in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shounen Sunday magazine on May 12, 2012 under the Shounen Sunday Comics. Twenty tankoubon volumes have been released as of February 2023, with a 21st volume set for release on September 12, 2023.
Mix takes place decades after Adachi’s original 1981 manga series Touch, which ended in 1986 in Weekly Shounen Sunday.

Crunchyroll streamed the first season of Mix: Meisei Story and describes the synopsis as:
A new generation steps up to the plate in a moving sequel to the 1985 baseball manga, Touch. Stepbrothers Touma and Suichirou are ace players on Meisei High School’s baseball team, and thanks to them, the team may finally have a chance at returning to nationals. But little by little, a tragic legacy unfolds as the stepbrothers follow in their fathers’ footsteps.
