The production team for the A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special TV anime series has revealed a new character PV trailer, featuring Romantica Eru. The anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2023.
The series is directed by Taishi Kawaguchi (Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut assistant director) with Takamitsu Kouno (She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man) as series screenwriter, Hiromi Katou (Goblin Slayer II) as character designer, and Kenta Higashiooji (Pole Princess!!) as music composer. Arvo Animation is in charge of the animation production.
The main voice cast for A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special includes Takuma Terashima as the protagonist Desir Armand, Sayumi Suzushiro as Romantica Eru, and Natsumi Fujiwara as Pram Schneider.
Japanese rock band Flow is also singing the opening theme “Get Back.” Crunchyroll will stream the anime outside of Asia, while Muse Asia will simulcast it in Southeast Asia.
The original web novel was written by Usonan and was serialized on the digital comic and fiction platform KakaoPage from September 2, 2016 to August 3, 2019. Eight volumes were released in total.
A manhwa adaptation with new illustrations by Wookjakga was launched on KakaoPage on May 19, 2018, with four volumes being released as of May 2023. The manhwa is published in Japan digitally by Piccoma and in print by Kadokawa Shoten. Yen Press also releases the series in English print.
Tapas Media and TappyToon are releasing the A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special web comic in English, describing the series as:
