A second visual for Goblin Slayer II has been released, along with the news that the anime sequel will begin airing in Japan on October 6 (effectively October 7 at 1:05 AM JST).

Goblin Slayer is based on the light novels written by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by Noboru Kannatsuki, which are published under SB Creative’s GA Bunko label. Yen Press describes the books as:

A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It’s the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue–a man who’s dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next…

Unlike the 2018 first season, Goblin Slayer II is directed by Misato Takada (Saiyuki Reload Zeroin) with Hiromi Katou (ID-0) as character designer and LIDENFILMS as the animation production studio. The first season’s director Takaharu Ozaki is involved as chief director, while series composer/scriptwriter Hideyuki Kurata and music composer Kenichirou Suehiro are reprising their roles.

The cast includes Yuuichirou Umehara as Goblin Slayer, Yui Ogura as Priestess, Yuka Iguchi as Cow Girl, Maaya Uchida as Guild Girl, Nao Touyama as High Elf Archer, Yuuichi Nakamura as Dwarf Shaman, and Tomokazu Sugita as Lizard Priest.

The Goblin Slayer light novels began in 2016 and have 16 volumes as of July 2022. The series has inspired spin-offs and a manga adaptation.

The previous season and the 2020 OVA Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown were produced by White Fox.
