A new, lengthy preview of the upcoming Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou (Alice and Therese’s Illusion Factory) anime movie has been released, this time in the form of a short music video featuring two minutes of the theme song “Shin-on” by Miyuki Nakajima.

Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou will premiere in Japan on September 15. The MAPPA-produced movie is the second directorial work of Mari Okada (Anohana scriptwriter, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans series composer), following the 2018 P.A.Works-produced fantasy film Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms.

The plot revolves around three teenagers in a gloomy town that was the site of a steelworks explosion. Male protagonist Masamune Kikuiri (Junya Enoki) finds himself led by the engimatic Mutsumi Sagami (Reina Ueda) to the steelworks’ fifth blast furnace, where a feral girl called Itsumi (Misaki Kuno) resides. The encounter between these three breaks the balance of the world, and the unstoppable impulse to fall in love between boys and girls who are sick of everyday life begins its destruction.

The anime’s staff includes:

• Assistant director: Tadashi Hiramatsu (Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms core director, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 character designer)
• Character designer and chief animation director: Yuriko Ishii (Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms)
• Chief unit director: Seimei Kidokoro (Fireworks assistant director)

• Art director: Kazuki Higashiji (Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms)
• Color designer: Tomoko Washida (Dorohedoro)

• Compositing director: Yuusuke Tannawa (Inuyashiki, Banana Fish)
• Music composer: Masaru Yokoyama (Horimiya)
