The upcoming dark fantasy anime The Kingdoms of Ruin has received a second trailer and key visual, with the former including a preview of the show’s voice performances and the newly announced Hana Hope opening song “Kieru Made.”
It was also announced that the anime will premiere on October 6 (effectively October 7 at 1:53 AM JST) in Japan, and that Who-ya Extended is performing the ending song, titled “Prayer.”
The Kingdoms of Ruin is based on the Mag Garden-published dark fantasy manga by yoruhashi, which began serialization in Monthly Comic Garden in 2019 and has eight tankoubon volumes as of March 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the plot as:
Humanity long lived in harmony with witches, but an advanced scientific revolution has made the powers of a witch unnecessary. Succumbing to resentment and fear, the greatest nation in the world begins a brutal witch hunt and eliminates all witches from the land. After being forced to watch his beloved teacher die, Adonis, a witch’s apprentice, swears revenge on the empire that took everything away from him. It’s a bloody battle between science and magic in this thrilling new fantasy manga!
Keitarou Motonaga (She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man) is directing the Yokohama Animation Lab -produced anime with Takamitsu Kouno (She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man) as series composer. Other staff include:
• Hiromi Katou (ID-0 animation character designer) as character designer
• Miki Sakurai (The Demon Girl Next Door)
• Shuu Kanematsu (Dynamic Chord)
• Hanae Nakamura (The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie co-composer) as music composers
Meanwhile, the cast includes Kaito Ishikawa as Adonis, Azumi Waki as Doroka, Ryouko Shiraishi as Chloe, Satoshi Hino as Yamato, Hikaru Toono as Yuki, and Kishou Taniyama as Shirousagi.
