The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic anime adaptation has received its first full trailer, which previews protagonist Usato’s hellish training by the Rescue Squad leader Rose.
The trailer’s release was accompanied by the reveal of a January 2024 premiere for the show and the announcement of Atsuko Tanaka as the voice of Rose. Additionally, Elements Garden’s Hitoshi Fujima and Seima Kondou were announced as the anime’s music composers.
The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic started as a web novel by Kurokata that debuted on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2014. A light novel series illustrated by KeG and published under KADOKAWA’s MF Books label ran from 2016 to 2020 with 12 volumes and has received a manga adaptation by Reki Kugayama.
One Peace Books, which publishes both the light novels and manga in English, describes the former as:
Usato, an ordinary high schooler, happens to run into two fellow students after school one rainy day. Suddenly, all three of them are engulfed in a magic circle and transported to a fantasy world. There’s just one tiny problem―Usato is simply dragged along by accident! On top of that, Usato learns that he is capable of using healing magic―an incredibly rare affinity in this new world. Now Usato must spend his days with the rescue team thugs, struggling through their hellish training regimen―learning the wrong way to use healing magic. Takahide Ogata (Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori) is directing the anime with Shougo Yasukawa (Otaku Elf) as series composer and Kenji Tanabe (Blue Lock co-character designer) as character designer. Studio Add and Shin-Ei Animation are co-producing.
The previously announced cast members include Shougo Sakata as Usato, Ayaka Nanase as Suzune, Kengo Takanashi as Kazuki, and Saya Aizawa as Amako.
